The
current crisis has affected all sectors of society. The rescue focused on the
banks which have become into a NGO because of our almost non-altruistic
donations. The 23,000 million euros injection that Bankia has obtained, have
been what has caused anger among Spanish citizens. But what will happen now with the young
entrepreneurs? And I'm not talking about the business market. Let's
think about something closer, like music.
Fans of any genre who see their hopes dashed by lack
of money because of mainly they can't find job. There exists a band from Aragón
that works hard and grows day by day, they have decided to call themselves
“Froggies Aveniu”. The band members are
Luis Yagüe, Jorge Aliaga and Jorge “Jorch” Novella, these three guys
from Zaragoza city have a lot of experience on their backs, five years playing
in bars and sceneries, most of those years in a band that they created when
they first met and was called "Out of Choice".
Luis plays the drums and is 28. And although being unemployed he has spent much money for years in her passion for music. "I always say I should have bought a triangle instead of drums", he jokes. The economic benefits are minimal and the number of bars ready and conditioned to give concerts are slowly disappearing. |
Another major expense is being able to afford to rent
a rehearsal space that meets minimum requirements for quality and not too far
from the city. A monthly fee of around 30 euros a month and which must be added
gasoline and other expenses.
For this punk band the difficulties don't end. After
the guitarist spent a year studying in Leeds .
Now the same member of the band who had been studying in England, Aliaga, has
to go to work to Madrid which is where he has found something that really worth.
Brain drain at all levels.
Although politicians, bankers and society that are
exterminating very healthy illusions, these musicians are not breaking down and
even their motivation increases despite the adversity.
